Ballet I
For students approximately 6-9 years old. This class focuses on the basics of ballet technique. Taught by Misti Roberts.

Ballet II
For students approximately 8-11 years old. Teacher approval required for 8 year olds. This class meets twice a week and placement is required. Two pairs of tights are included in the cost of this class. Taught by Misti Roberts and Norah Jones

Ballet III & Pointe

For students who are 10 and older and/or by teacher approval. This class meets twice a week. Students not yet on pointe will do class in ballet shoes - pointe is not a requirement. Taught by Jennifer Austin.

Beginning/Intermediate Modern
MONDAY 7:00-7:45; Ages 10-13; director approval required

This is a classic technical class for students ages 10-14 who are currently enrolled in Ballet III. Teacher approval required for 10-12 year olds. Must be 10 years old by September 1, 2024. Director has final say on placement. Taught by Norah Jones.

Tap I
MONDAY 4:30-5:00

This class focuses on developing speed, clarity, and complex rhythms in tap. Dancers will refine technique, expand their step vocabulary, and explore choreography that challenges both timing and performance skills. Perfect for beginners and/or students age 6-9. Taught by Misti Roberts.
Dress Code - black leotard or shirt, black leggings or shorts, black jazz shoe style tap shoes.
Tap II
THURSDAY 4:30-5:00

This class focuses on developing speed, clarity, and complex rhythms in tap. Dancers will refine technique, expand their step vocabulary, and explore choreography that challenges both timing and performance skills. Perfect for those with 2 years prior tap experience. Taught by Misti Roberts.

Tap II advanced placement
THURSDAY 3:30-4:00

Teen Tap
For students who are at least 13 years old with 2 years of tap. **Teacher may approve students with less tap experience. Placement Required. Taught by Misti Roberts.

Elementary Acting/Improv

NON-PERFORMANCE CLASS
This course lays the foundation for studying the discipline and art of acting, through exercises, games, readings, discussions, scene work, and text analysis. This class encourages trust, communication, agreement, active listening, character, status, and making their scene partners look good. We will focus on the work of the Ensemble above all, cultivating the unique spirit of collaboration that is inherent in the theatre.

ACTING FOR THE CAMERA I
Age 9-12
Tuesdays 7:00-7:30; $35/month
Acting for the camera isn’t acting for the stage, the lens catches everything, so the work is about doing less and meaning more. In this class we’ll learn on-camera technique the only way it actually sticks: by getting in front of the camera from day one and watching themselves back. Taught by working filmmakers who’ll shoot real coverage and show you why a take works, the class builds from stillness and listening up through scene work, self-taping, and taking direction on the fly. Students leave with sharper instincts, real self-tape skills they can use for actual auditions, and footage of themselves for a reel.”

ELEMENTARY JAZZ

Theatre Basics for INV Beginners
MONDAY 4:00-4:30; Age 9-14;

An introductory class that covers theatre terms, exercises in theatre basics, teamwork, understanding theatre directions, ensemble work.

This high-energy class introduces young dancers to the fundamentals of hip hop in a fun, age-appropriate way. Students will learn basic footwork, rhythm, coordination, and freestyle movement while building confidence and creativity. The focus is on having fun, staying active, and developing a love for dance in a supportive environment. Taught by Faith Wirrick & Frankie Durham.

TEEN HIP-HOP

Our teen hip hop class challenges dancers with dynamic choreography, musicality, and performance skills. Students will explore a variety of hip hop styles while improving strength, precision, and expression. With an emphasis on confidence, creativity, and teamwork, this class is perfect for teens who want to sharpen their technique and perform with style.

Elem Vocal Performance Ensemble
Ages 13-18; TUESDAY 3:15-4:00
$40 PER MONTH
Our elementary vocal ensemble gives singers the opportunity to grow their vocal skills while experiencing the joy of making music together. Students will learn proper vocal technique, sight-reading, harmony, and musical expression across a variety of styles, from classical to contemporary. Emphasis is placed on teamwork, performance skills, and building confidence as both individual singers and as an ensemble. No prior choir experience is required—just a love of singing and a willingness to learn! Taught by Regina Smith.
Worship Dance
MONDAY 7:45-8:30; AGE 9-18; FREE
This is a non-technical ballet/contemporary/jazz class for both dancers and non-dancers. This is a non-performance class. Taught by Norah Jones.
This class is and has always been a free class for those who may not have the opportunity to take other classes. This class is open to any and all INV students.
