Classes for ages 8-13

Ballet II

For students approximately 8-11 years old. Teacher approval required for 8 year olds. This class meets twice a week and placement is required. Two pairs of tights are included in the cost of this class. One pair will be given at the beginning of the fall semester, and the second pair will be given with the costume for the spring performance. Taught by Misti Roberts.

Ballet III & Pointe

For students who are 10 and older and/or by teacher approval. This class meets twice a week. Students not yet on pointe will do class in ballet shoes - pointe is not a requirement. This is a classic technical class for students ages 10-14 who are currently enrolled in Ballet III. Teacher approval required for 10-12 year olds. Must be 10 years old by September 1, 2024. Teacher has final say on placement. Taught by Jennifer Austin.

Tap II

For students who are 10 and older and/or by teacher approval. This class meets twice a week. Students not yet on pointe will do class in ballet shoes - pointe is not a requirement. Teen Tap

FoFor students who are at least 13 years old with 2 years of tap. **Teacher may approve students with less tap experience. Placement Required.  Teen Tap students must have "Jazz Tap Shoes." Taught by Misti Roberts.

TEEN THEATRE DANCE

BEGINNING THEATRE JAZZ FOR “NON-DANCERS”

This homeschool class is for students new to theatre dance. This is a non-performance class focused on technique basics. Taught by Lauren Kolmetz.

TUESDAY 11:15-12:00; Age 8-14

Worship Dance for Younger Dancers

This is a non-technical ballet/contemporary/jazz class for both dancers and non-dancers. This is a non-performance class. Taught by Norah Jones.

MONDAY 3:30-4:15; AGE 8-12

This class is and has always been a free class for those who may not have the opportunity to take other classes. This class is open to any and all INV students.

ELEMENTARY IMPROV

THURSDAYS 4:30-5:15; Age 8-12

NON-PERFORMANCE CLASS

Students will learn the core fundamentals and principles of improv, focusing on various games and exercises that encourage trust, communication, agreement, active listening, character, status, and making their scene partners look good. After that, students will start to apply these concepts into fully improvised scenes. This class will focus on how to imagine the basic structures of scenes and how to communicate that to an audience. For students aged 8-12 years old. Class size limited to 15 students. Taught by AJ Powiliatis

ACTING I

MONDAY 7:00-7:30; Age 9-12

NON-PERFORMANCE CLASS

This course lays the foundation for studying the discipline and art of acting, through exercises, games,

readings, discussions, scene work, and text analysis. We will clarify the necessity of learning the craft of

acting, which requires a disciplined commitment to voice, speech and movement training, and an

intellectual rigor in dissecting text. We will focus on the work of the Ensemble above all, cultivating the

unique spirit of collaboration that is inherent in the theatre. We will explore nine topics including but
